A dangerous Winter Storm is approaching our area. Wind Chills are expected to reach minus 21 degrees later tonight and continued life-threatening cold will persist through Monday. Oldham County Emergency Management is requesting that you:
-DO NOT get out on the roadways tonight or tomorrow morning. A flash freeze may occur on the roadways coupled with snow accumulations, making travel very hazardous.
-Keep vehicles off local roads this evening to allow snow plows to clear the streets.
-DO NOT operate generators in enclosed spaces (garages, near doors or windows, basements, etc.). Operate only in open outdoor spaces.
-Call 911 for any emergencies, including exposure to extreme cold. Warming Centers are available at all local fire stations in Oldham County.
-Keep away from downed power lines and report any outages immediately to LGE/K.U.
-This is a very dangerous situation. Please remain at home and enjoy the holiday.
